Weirdly Awesome, or Awesomely Weird?

It’s an article of common knowledge that astronomical structures tend to organize themselves into discs and spheres. But this is kind of stunning: Apparently the Andromeda Galaxy serves as the center of a galactic system, with dwarf galaxies rotating around it in a plane, 400 kiloparsecs across but only 14 kiloparsecs top-to-bottom.

It’s as if Andromeda were a star and those galaxies were its planets. Super cool.
