Ring of Fire Eclipse.

Ring of Fire Eclipse.

Medford, Oregon, May 2012. Fun fact about this picture: The small town I lived in at the time absolutely ran out of welder’s glass and other tools with which one might view an eclipse in the middle of the day. So I cut up a car shade – the fold-out visors you put up in your windshield to keep the heat out while parked – and rubber-banded a section of it to my camera lens. If you look really closely at the photo you can see the grid pattern of the visor screen.
